Find out more about ETIM and take part in a free webinar.
ETIM is an international standard for the classification of products. The ETIM classification allows a standardized representation of the partly very complex product world.
ETIM was originally developed for the electrical sector, but has since established itself as a standard in many industries. Thanks to the standardized classification and description of products, ETIM enables efficient data exchange between manufacturers, retailers and customers. This not only facilitates trade, but also the integration of product data into various systems and platforms.
For wholesalers, this makes it much easier to find products, create catalogs and advise customers. For the industry, it makes it easier to find their products in the huge product ranges and thus offer them to the end customer.
As ITEK, we form the staff units for the areas of heating, ventilation and air conditioning, building materials and digital interfaces.
As the staff unit for the ETIM HVAC sector, we are aware that the efficiency of the search mechanisms in the online shops, the creation of catalogues and, last but not least, personal customer advice depend heavily on the quality of the product data.
In 2022, the building materials sector was also published for ETIM Germany. We at ITEK have taken on the staff position for this sector and are committed to updating and further developing this standard with the help of our members.
Since 2017, ETIM Germany has been coordinating the ELBRIDGE data exchange standard to ensure a smooth flow of information between manufacturers and retailers. These diverse standards complement each other and only realise their full potential when they work together.
