IDS stands for Integrated Data Interface. IDS Connect links the trade software with the wholesaler's online shop to search for items and exchange shopping baskets. The “item deep link” function also allows direct access to current prices and item availability.
The interface was defined by ITEK GmbH in collaboration with the German Federal Association for Software and Digitalization in Construction (BVBS), the German Wholesale Association for Building Services (DG Haustechnik), and the German Central Association for Sanitary, Heating, and Air Conditioning (ZVSHK).
When IDS-Connect is called up by the trade software, authentication is first carried out using defined standards. The following functions can then be performed:

This makes it easy to organize item data in the trade software and efficiently carry out processes such as creating quotes.
The Connect directories provide information on the implementation details of market partners from the wholesale and skilled trades sectors. This includes, for example, addresses and versions of the interfaces offered. This procedure allows skilled trades software companies to easily access the interfaces of individual market partners. Wholesalers should register their interfaces here to ensure that processes with skilled trades customers run smoothly.
