Current status of ETIM working groups

News / ETIM / Standardization  -
Work is progressing in the ETIM working groups in the areas of HVAC and building materials.

Work on the EC classes in the HVAC sector is continuing. Key topics include the revision of the "holder classes for bathroom accessories", new classes for decentralised domestic ventilation units and hybrid heat generators (boilers) and heating inserts. These and other topics are currently being discussed in the working groups and will be included in the ETIM 10 release at the end of 2024.

Work on the MC models in the HVAC sector will also begin in the coming months. The aim is to review the existing MC classes for use in the German market in the respective working groups and to define missing MC classes. If you are interested in participating, please contact your staff unit.

In the building materials sector, work has also been further specified in order to incorporate the necessary optimisations into the ETIM 10 release. The focus is on adapting classes for drainage, dry construction, tiles, plasters and mortars. Work is also being carried out across working groups in order to identify and effectively implement all necessary adjustments.

The first version of the new ETIM xChange exchange format is available for download. This forms the basis for testing by the members and thus for in-depth discussions regarding optimisations and change requests. Due to the expected changes, ETIM Germany does not currently recommend the productive use of the ETIM xChange version. The discussion will take place within the "Structure and Technology" working group.
