The manual recording, forwarding, and filing of documents is still part of everyday life in wholesale and skilled trades. Each individual step takes time, ties up staff, encourages errors, and leads to delays.

ITEK has published an article on digitization in the skilled trades with the new Open Document Exchange (ODX) standard in the trade journal RAS International – Das Wirtschaftsjournal für die Gebäudetechnik (The Business Journal for Building Technology).

The article discusses how the lack of standardization and automation complicates the exchange of documents between wholesalers and skilled trades and how the ODX standard solves this problem.
