Current status in the ETIM working groups

News / Open Datacheck / ETIM / Standardization  -
Work is progressing in the ETIM working groups in the areas of HVAC and building materials.

In the ETIM HVAC sector, initial workshops have been held for the individual product areas. From a current perspective, only minor adjustments to ETIM 10 are required for this sector; these will be collected and elaborated in further meetings.

Work has also started in the working groups in the ETIM Building Materials sector. The focus was particularly on the topics agreed in advance, such as plasterboard and the redesign of various mortar classes. The discussions showed that the existing classes can also be used in the German market with minor adjustments. The details of the adaptations were worked out and will be converted into RFCs in the next step.

As the ETIM building materials section was not published in Germany until 2022, the focus here is on testing additional classes in all product areas. The aim is to be able to classify around 80% of members' products with ETIM 10.

The introduction and use of the knowledge base for organizing meetings and discussing open topics has proven successful and has been well received by the participants. The implementation of the knowledge base makes a significant contribution to increasing efficiency and transparency in standardization work.

The release for ETIM 10 is planned for November 1, 2024. Please note that RFCs must be submitted by July 31, 2024 for change requests to be considered.
