The association ETIM Deutschland e. V. - originally Elektro-Technisches-Informations-Modell (ETIM) - was founded in 1999. ETIM Deutschland e. V. pursues the goal of optimising trade in technical products through the internationally recognised standardisation of information. This includes ensuring data quality through a clear logic of product information by defining classes, characteristics and values for all products. This is carried out in consultation with all members and stakeholders such as staff departments and co-operation partners of the association.
The ETIM standard is an ID-based classification model. It is used to classify articles and enables an internationally standardised and unambiguous description of products. This enables manufacturers to easily find their products in the large wholesale product ranges.
What is ETIM?
An interest group that has established and continuously develops a standard for data exchange.
Technical standard for data management in the electrical, heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC), building materials and tools, hardware and site supplies sectors in Germany.
An ID-based classification model for the logical and clear categorisation of products into different product classes.
The standard presents the most important technical properties of a product class in order to describe items better and make them easier to find.
The standard is multilingual, media-neutral and manufacturer and supplier-neutral.
ITEK is the official staff unit for the HVAC classification of ETIM Germany. If you have any further questions about ETIM, please do not hesitate to contact us.
