If you have any questions about ETIM membership, data classification or other topics, please do not hesitate to contact us.
High-quality product master data is the foundation for success in sales and customer service. As an open and freely available standard for article classification, ETIM is of particular importance here.
A decisive step towards ensuring the highest data quality in the HVAC industry is to introduce a clearly structured classification system for the presentation of product master data. The ETIM standard enables an internationally standardised and clear description of product properties.
At ITEK, as an ETIM staff unit, we are committed to updating and further developing this standard with the help of our members. After all, the efficiency of search mechanisms in customer shops, the creation of catalogues and, last but not least, personal customer advice depend heavily on the quality of product data.
More than 20 countries worldwide are working on the ETIM model. As a result, over 2,600 classes including characteristics were published internationally with the last release for ETIM 9 in the SHAC sector. Work on the further development of this model has been ongoing internationally since 2017.
The ETIM classification allows the standardised presentation of the sometimes very complex product world. This makes it much easier for wholesalers to find products, create catalogues and advise customers. For the industry, it makes it easier to find their products in the huge product ranges and thus to offer them to the end customer.
ETIM classification generally increases your sales in the wholesale online shop, among other things. With the cost-effective check-up, we analyse your product data and provide you with specific information for a possible implementation of an ETIM classification. This will give you the confidence to make a decision on the ETIM classification of your product range.
ETIM classification offers considerable advantages when finding products in large databases (e.g. shops). The standard is free to use. However, anyone wishing to participate in the development of the standard must become an ETIM member.
As the year draws to a close, we would like to thank you for your continued cooperation and trust in 2024.
