In addition to the ETIM data model and the ETIM guidelines (which are based on BMEcat), ETIM Germany is also responsible for the EDILEKTRO working group and the support of ELGATE.
Since 2017, ETIM Germany has been coordinating the ELBRIDGE data exchange standard to ensure a smooth flow of information between manufacturers and retailers.
Following intensive discussions with ZVEI, VEG and ZVEH, it was decided in 2017 to maintain and further develop the relevant norms and standards in the area of business processes under the leadership of ETIM Germany. These diverse standards complement each other and only realise their full potential through joint interaction.
As the ETIM Staff Unit Digital Interfaces, we are dedicated to the continuous development of these standards. Our main objective is to ensure the coordination, support and further development of these standards in order to make data exchange between manufacturers and retailers as efficient as possible.
ELBRIDGE is a standard developed by ETIM Germany for connecting wholesale shops to the industry's product configurators. The interface technically standardises the product selection process. As the ETIM Staff Unit Digital Interfaces, ITEK is responsible for the development and dissemination of the standard.
The German Electrical Wholesalers‘ Association (VEG) and the German Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers’ Association (ZVEI), the trade association for installation devices and systems, recognised the opportunity very early on to offer their member companies ways of reducing the administrative workload in logistics and supporting communication between business partners by standardising procedures and using modern technical aids.
ELGATE replaces today's standard telephone enquiries from wholesale employees with online information via the IT systems of the wholesale trade and industry.
