As a wholesaler, you exchange a large number of business documents such as delivery notes and order statuses with tradespeople on a daily basis. This is done in many different ways and in various formats, which leads to manual editing processes and increased potential for errors. Thanks to the Open Document Exchange (ODX) standard, documents can now be exchanged digitally in a hybrid format - similar to the ZUGFeRD invoice - between wholesalers and tradespeople.
With the XD Cloud Customer, you can implement precisely these ODX standard processes with the skilled trades. The private document cloud enables the automated and standardised exchange of business documents, such as delivery notes or order statuses, directly with your end customers in the skilled trades. The cloud solution is based on the Open Document Exchange (ODX) standard and reduces inefficient, manual input and processing procedures, allowing you to reduce your costs and better allocate resources.
The Open Document Exchange (ODX) standard simplifies the exchange of business documents between wholesalers and tradespeople. This enables paperless and automated processing of documents. The first use case, the ‘counter process’, allows tradespeople to transmit project data via QR code and integrate documents directly into their software. Further areas of application, such as quotations and orders, are being planned.

Hybrid documents are common in the ODX and ZUGFeRD standard. They combine a PDF for manual processing with an embedded XML structure for automatic processes. This means that both manual and automatic processing can be carried out with the same document.
There are four document types that are processed: Orders, order confirmations, delivery notes and invoices. Documents must have the required quality in terms of both content and structure to enable automatic processing.
There are four different transport channel types. As a sender, you decide on a channel type and offer all four channel types to your recipients. This means that you can serve all relevant transport channel types from the ODX standard and in the HVAC industry with just one solution.
Reduction in complexity
You have 75% fewer channels to operate, as you no longer have to set up and maintain them. This significantly reduces the complexity of the processes.
Industry standard ODX
Communication channels are based on the ODX industry standard from the HVAC and electrical industry.
Private document cloud
All content and documents are stored in your own instance. You have full control over your confidential business data.
Time and cost optimisation
By rationalising planning and administrative processes, you save time and personnel and increase your efficiency.
Digitalisation
Every receipt is available in digital form, enabling automatic transparency of deliveries and invoices.
Authentication
The authentication procedures from the ODX standard are supported. Others can be implemented in your XD Cloud on request.
